Medical Groups

With the industry continuing its aggressive consolidation, and CMS raising the bar on health outcomes - thus reducing revenue - medical groups are feeling the pressure from both sides. Providers have been saturated by groups, and lists exhausted for conversion, resulting in extremely limited growth. We are just a few years away from peak MAPD adoption. Further, with limited time to personally visit providers, developing and maintaining a mutual loyalty and personal trust can be challenging for any group, further impeding network growth.

Typical agents ask BDMs and NMs for providers to visit without offering anything in return. I disagree with this approach. A good agent should be willing to put time in the field to bring in new members and co-op in order to demonstrate their commitment to the provider office.

Through the trust I have developed in the industry, I have been deployed by groups as the agent of choice for providers, and have created successful growth strategies that have resulted in panel growth, network growth, and greater trust between provider offices and medical groups.
